Born in Mexico City, Maria developed a passion for storytelling at an early age. Raised during the renaissance of Mexican cinema, she found inspiration in the gritty and honest characters she saw on screen. After attending film school in Southern California, Maria worked as a director’s assistant on a TV series and was tasked with creating visual treatments for each episode. Drawing inspiration from art, cinema, and photography, Maria quickly honed her craft in translating written words into beautiful imagery, bringing a story to life. She’s since worked with top tier commercial and film directors as a visual researcher, working diligently and creatively to craft their vision into inspired treatments. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Maria’s muses include Spike Jonze’s films, Clarice Lispector’s short stories, and Nan Goldin’s eye.
