Slow-Motion Portraiture serves to capture primary moments of connection that run throughout the film. The slow-motion action in each scene is carefully chosen to display the life and work of each individual in ways that are dynamic, yet powerful in their honesty. Whether the action is as simple as a mother’s hair blowing in the wind, or as dynamic as kids throwing flour while helping their mother cook, the foreground and background surrounding the subject brings each scene to life.
Real-time, contextual footage at 24fps surrounds select portraits, adding further detail along with still photography. While slow-motion portraiture is at the forefront of this campaign — allowing the viewer to soak in the subject’s action & expression — real-time footage heightens the emotional reality of the slow-motion.
Still Photography integrates for the purpose of quickly cutting additional context into several of the subjects’ lives. Further, stills allow slow-motion moments to appear even more unexpected and surreal
Real-time portraiture showcases several subjects against abstracted and out of focus backgrounds. The intention here is to seed further direct connection with the subjects amidst the more contextual scenes throughout the campaign.
