As a writer, Claire Rose has always been curious about what makes people tick. So treatment writing – getting to crawl inside the minds of genius directors and see how they experience the world, is a gem of an opportunity. She’s been doing it for a few years now, but never ceases to be amazed at how great directors can spin magic from even the most mundane of ideas. Claire Rose’s route to writing has been long and varied. She’s lived around the world, worked on Capitol Hill, and volunteered with AmeriCorps, before landing in LA. She started as a grip and then tried just about everything from coordinating to coverage before diving into writing. She’s old school, so the muses are the classics: Didion’s “Play it as it Lays”, Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” (with a standing ovation for Elevator Repair Service’s “Gatz”) and “Casablanca”. Always “Casablanca”… and “Furious 7” in 4DX.
